EXECUTIVE BOARD:
CONFERENCE 2010:
SUSTAINABILITY
NOW!! |
Message from the President, Karri K. Murray: I hope everyone is back in the swing of things at work and that your recruitment and career fairs have been/are a huge SUCCESS. What a great conference we had in Myrtle Beach! I wanted to thank Diane Reed for putting on a great program and a conference with a wealth of networking opportunities and FUN. Diane, you faced significant challenges with first losing your conference co-chair and then having to adapt to the impact the economic downturn had on the conference, yet your hard work and positivity resulted in an outstanding conference for 2009—great job!! Thank you also to Michael Sears for organizing our job fair in Myrtle Beach and to all the conference committee members for their hard work! I wanted to take this time to finally announce our 2009 Board. For those of you who were not in Myrtle Beach, we did not have a quorum to vote on the Slate and therefore Julie Goley has recently completed counting the email “ballots” for our new board. I am pleased to announce our new board members for 2009: Ulysses Gilbert (President-Elect and VP of Schools), Tammy White (VP of Colleges), Teresa Cunningham-Brown (Secretary), Denise Davis (Director of Schools), and Marshall Chambers (Director of Schools). For a complete list of our board, including those returning board members, please see the attachment. I am VERY excited about the challenging year ahead and the new possibilities we are “cooking up” for our 2010 conference. Our primary focus for this year will be to address how SAEE can provide a worthwhile experience for current members and recruit new members in light of existing or pending travel and recruiting budget cuts. We already have some great ideas which we will be sharing with members shortly. The board will also be actively recruiting members for assistance with our committees.Karri K. Murray
